- Battery health is the make-or-break on older ANAFIs — packs are increasingly scarce for the original line, so favor multi-battery kits and test every pack's swelling, charge retention, and cycle data
- Test the full gimbal range including the straight-up tilt and the zoom throughout its range — gimbal repair on a discontinued airframe rarely pencils out
- On thermal variants and ANAFI USA, verify the FLIR core against a known heat source and check the zoom camera for focus drift; the payload is most of the value
- Confirm the drone is removed from the seller's Parrot account, factory-reset it, and check that the FreeFlight/Skycontroller app still supports the model at current firmware before you rely on it

For unrestricted private buyers, DJI usually delivers more camera per dollar.
Are old Parrot ANAFIs still supported?
The original consumer ANAFI is discontinued, and while the apps have kept working, official parts and batteries are drying up. Buy one as a cheap, light 4K flyer with its limits priced in — not as a long-term platform.
What makes the ANAFI gimbal special?
