How Much Does a Used Camera Drone Cost? (2026 Prices by Type & Brand)
Camera drones for sale range from a couple of hundred dollars to the price of a car. These tables are live from the listings on this site, so the numbers are what sellers are asking today — not last year's guide.

The phrase "camera drone" covers everything from a sub-250-gram mini that fits in a jacket pocket to a cinema rig carrying a full-frame sensor. The used market is where most of the value is: a two- or three-year-old aircraft shoots footage that only a specialist can tell from the current flagship, at a fraction of the launch price. Below are the live asking prices on this site by type and by brand, followed by what actually moves the number.

Read the median, not the range. The lowest price in a category is usually an aircraft-only listing with no batteries or remote; the highest is a full professional kit. The median is the price a complete, working example with a couple of batteries sits at.

Brands appear here only once they have at least five priced listings on the site, so the table reflects the brands with real used-market depth rather than every name that exists. DJI dominates that depth, which is exactly why a used DJI is easy to price and easy to resell.
What decides the price of a used camera drone
- Generation, not age. A drone is priced by which generation of sensor, transmission system and obstacle sensing it carries. A model superseded twice drops harder than one superseded once, regardless of the calendar year it was built.
- Batteries. They are consumables, and a kit with three healthy batteries is worth materially more than one with a single tired cell. Ask for cycle counts on each.
- Kit completeness. The "Fly More" style combos — extra batteries, charging hub, ND filters, bag — hold value better than aircraft-only sales. A screen remote (DJI RC, RC 2, RC Pro) adds real money.
- Crash and repair history. A documented repair at an authorised centre costs a modest discount; an undisclosed one costs the sale when the buyer reads the flight logs.
- Sensor and codec. Within a generation, the larger sensor, the 10-bit log profile and the higher bitrate command a premium because they matter to paying clients.
- Remote ID and firmware support. An aircraft still receiving firmware updates and broadcasting Remote ID is worth more than an orphaned one that needs a module.
Cheap camera drones: what the bottom of the market looks like

At the low end you will find older minis, aircraft-only listings and some toy-grade models. The questions to ask are the same as at any price: does it have a real serial number, can the seller show flight logs, are the batteries healthy, and will it activate for you. A cheap drone that fails any of those is not cheap.
Dealer asking prices on this site tend to run above what a private sale brings, because a dealer kit has been tested, often carries a short warranty and comes with a return path. Price a private sale below the dealer median for the same model.

- Are used drones from dealers worth the premium?
- Usually, if the dealer has tested the aircraft, disclosed the cycle counts and offers even a short warranty. You are paying for a return path that a private seller cannot offer.
- Is a two-year-old drone still worth buying?
- Often it is the best value in the market. It has taken its steepest price drop but still has current firmware, Remote ID and parts availability.
- How much do extra batteries add to the price?
- Roughly what a healthy replacement costs new, less a margin for wear. Check current battery pricing for the model; battery prices are industry figures, not values measured on this site.
- Why are cinema and enterprise drones so much more expensive?
- Larger sensors, interchangeable lenses, payload capacity and thermal or zoom cameras — and a customer base that buys them for paid work, which supports the price.
- Do prices change by state?
- Asking prices are fairly consistent nationally, but supply is not: states with more listings give you more choice and more negotiating room. Browse by state to compare.

- Only if you already own a compatible remote and batteries. Add up what you would need to buy and compare the total with a complete kit; it is often not the bargain it looks.
